On Etsy and similar platforms, anyone can list a product as "handmade" without verification. Proven requires proof of process before a single item goes live. Every maker is reviewed by a human on our team — not an algorithm. This isn't just a policy, it's an enforced standard.
Yes! Homemade food is absolutely welcome — hot sauces, baked goods, jams, spice blends, granola, and more. We simply verify that the food is genuinely made by you (not re-packaged or dropshipped), and you'll need to comply with any local cottage food laws that apply to your area.
After you submit your application, our team reviews it within 2–3 business days. We may follow up with a question or two. Once approved, you can list products immediately. We keep it thorough but not slow.
Buyers can flag a concern directly from any listing page. Our team investigates all flags seriously. Verified status isn't permanent if a maker's practices change or misrepresentation is discovered — we will remove listings and accounts that don't meet our standards.
We're launching with US-based makers first, but global expansion is part of our roadmap. If you're outside the US, we'd love to have you on the waitlist — your interest helps us prioritize which regions to open next.
